Role
We are currently recruiting for a committed and resilient Primary ALN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Barry. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including those who may present with challenging behaviour.
You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop positive behaviours, and thrive within a structured and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ALN
Support children displaying challenging behaviour using consistent strategies
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons
Implement individual behaviour and support plans
Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
We are seeking individuals who:
Have experience working with primary-aged children or within an ALN/SEND setting
Are confident in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
Possess strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Demonstrate a patient, resilient, and proactive approach
Are passionate about supporting children with additional needs
