Cyber Incident Response Lead (Cyber Security Operations)

Overview

Our client, a leading global organisation within the aviation sector, is seeking an experienced Cyber Incident Response Lead to join its Cyber Security Operations function.

This is a critical role responsible for leading the response to cyber incidents across a complex, enterprise-scale environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting business operations by coordinating rapid response, driving continuous improvement in incident management processes, and enhancing organisational cyber resilience.

This position includes participation in a 24/7 on-call rota and offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of cyber incident management within a high-impact environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cyber incidents across the organisation, ensuring effective containment, response, and recovery
  • Coordinate technical teams and business stakeholders during incident response activities
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve incident response processes and playbooks
  • Communicate complex technical issues clearly to stakeholders at all levels
  • Conduct risk assessments in dynamic and high-pressure situations
  • Support the development of in-house digital forensics capabilities
  • Feed incident insights into threat intelligence and security control improvements
  • Collaborate with external partners and suppliers supporting incident response
  • Share threat intelligence, indicators of compromise, and lessons learned across the organisation
  • Drive continuous improvement of incident response capabilities and frameworks

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading cyber incident response within a large or complex organisation
  • Strong understanding of incident response methodologies and best practices
  • Ability to remain calm, structured, and decisive under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working with threat intelligence frameworks (desirable)
  • Exposure to digital forensics (advantageous)
  • Collaborative and outcome-focused approach with strong stakeholder management skills
