Global Accounting Network are excited to be partnering with England Golf on the search for their new Head of Finance. The role is newly created due to growth across the business and offers a great opportunity to help shape finance in England for one of the worlds most loved sports.
England Golf oversee a wide range of initiatives, including elite player development, grassroots participation, and the management of Woodhall Spa Golf Club. This is a unique chance to apply your financial expertise within a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
As the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s financial strategy and operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for leading a team of 5 finance professionals and overseeing all aspects of the finance function.
The Role –
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the finance team
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive framework of financial controls
- Lead the production and interpretation of accurate, timely management accounts and financial reports, delivering valuable insights to support strategic decision-making by the Executive Team and Board
- Oversee statutory reporting and year-end processes
- Drive financial planning and forecasting, producing rolling forecasts and supporting the development of annual budgets aligned to organizational objectives
- Provide proactive financial advice and coaching to senior managers, enabling informed decisions and promoting financial accountability across the organization
- Identify and deliver opportunities for cost efficiencies and revenue generation
- Manage all taxation and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and report on cash flow, working with the CFO to ensure liquidity and financial resilience
- Represent the finance function at Audit and Finance Committee meetings, contributing to governance and strategic discussions
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture through coaching, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Champion modernisation and best practice in financial management, ensuring systems and processes remain efficient and fit for purpose
The Person –
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 2 years PQE
- Strong financial and management accounting knowledge
- Ability to produce accurate and timely financial reports.
- Cash flow forecasting
- VAT accounting and Partial Exemption rules
