The Role

We’re looking for an Event Manager to join the team at Cubitt House on a 12 month fixed-term contract.

As an Event Manager, you’ll oversee the planning and execution of all events, ensuring every function runs smoothly and exceeds guest expectations. You’ll coordinate with teams across the pub, manage logistics, and create memorable experiences that reflect Cubitt House’s dedication to hospitality excellence.

This is a head office role managing The Barley Mow & The Thomas Cubitt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and execute events, from private bookings to large-scale functions.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and deliver tailored experiences.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
  • Manage event budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently.
  • Oversee set-up, execution, and post-event breakdown to maintain high standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and handle feedback professionally.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an Event Manager or in a similar hospitality event role.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple events and priorities under pressure.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
  • Hands‑on, adaptable approach with attention to detail and creativity.
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK.
