Job Overview

This role is within the Urgent Community Response (UCR) team, part of the Community Services Directorate, operating from the NHS 111 hub in St Leonards, Dorset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the multidisciplinary team with assessment and rehabilitation of patients referred to the team.
  • Promote and sustain independence and well‑being for individuals in their home settings, under the guidance of qualified staff.
  • Provide a 2‑hour response to patients experiencing health crises, aiming to support them at home or in care homes rather than in hospital.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Hold or be eligible to hold an appropriate NHS healthcare qualification (e.g., ACP, trainee ACP, specialist paramedic/nurse, senior physiotherapist, occupational therapist, assistant practitioner, or student nurse).
  • Experience in community or urgent care settings is preferred.
  • Willingness to work under guidance and supervision of qualified staff.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required.

Hours and Working Conditions

This is a fixed‑term role of 23 hours per week, consisting of two 11.5‑hour shifts. The post holder may be required to work flexibly to meet service needs. For NHS staff, the position is offered on a secondment basis only.
