We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facility Security Officer to join our existing experienced team.
Role Responsibilities
Security and Compliance
- Knowledge of MOD security policies, JSPs (e.g. JSP 440), and government security standards
- Experience implementing physical, personnel, and information security measures
- Ability to maintain compliance with security regulations and audit requirements
Facility and Site Management
- Day-to-day management of the facility
- Experience managing secure buildings or government/military facilities
- Oversight of contractors working in secure environments
- Managing keys, passes, visitor control, and access permissions
- Supporting business continuity and emergency planning
- Ability to conduct security risk assessments and produce mitigation plans
- Monitoring threats and vulnerabilities affecting facilities
- Supporting internal and external security audits
- Ensuring secure storage of classified materials
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaising with military personnel, civil servants, contractors, and security teams
- Delivering security briefings and awareness training
- Writing clear reports and maintaining accurate security records
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge non-compliance appropriately
Health & Safety
- Support H&S coordination, including policies, risk assessments (DSE), logs and training
- Support and facilitate routine checks, inductions, drills, and contractor management
- Support and ensure statutory compliance (fire, electrical, water hygiene, etc.)
What we’re looking for
- Experience in MOD policies and procedures
- Experience in Physical Security and facilities management
- Experience in incident response and management
- Highly organised, reliable, and discreet
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills
- Eligible for and willing to obtain DV clearance
- IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid or Fire Warden
- Familiarity with access control, CCTV or alarm systems
- Experience supporting an office fit out or systems upgrade
