Principal Electrical Engineer – Building Infrastructure
Offices UK wide (Hybrid – 2 day per week in the office)
£70,000 – £80,000 + car allowance and benefits
A global engineering and consultancy organisation is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer with strong building services experience to join its multidisciplinary design team.
This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of high-quality electrical solutions across complex projects in sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial developments.
The Role
You will lead electrical design on major projects, ensuring delivery of integrated building services solutions including power, lighting, life safety, and associated systems. Working closely with other disciplines, you will ensure designs are coordinated, efficient, and aligned with client and regulatory requirements.
You will also:
- Present complex technical solutions to clients and stakeholders
- Lead and manage project teams (up to 10 people)
- Mentor and support junior engineers in their development
- Oversee subcontractors and ensure successful project delivery
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
- Proven experience in building services electrical design (essential)
- Strong technical expertise in electrical design (e.g. power, lighting, distribution)
- Background working within a consultancy environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to guide and develop junior engineers
- Due to the nature of the work, candidates need to be sole UK nationals and willing and eligible to undergo SC Clearance
