Our work matters to millions. It’ll matter to you too. Join our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Site-Based Senior Project Manager with Underground Cabling experience and be a key part of delivering complex, meaningful, and impactful projects.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, management, and delivery of major Underground Cabling projects spanning in the Aberdeen area. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, contributing to the future of sustainable energy infrastructure in Scotland.

What you’ll be doing

  • Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
  • Ensure reports provide relevant information which enables decisions to be made that are informed, cost effective and in line with overall strategy
  • Lead a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation
  • Develop, implement and update resource allocation plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests
  • Develop high performing diverse teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and performance management
  • Lead risk/opportunity reviews, present the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes
  • Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans, such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines
  • Ensure all work is undertaken with a view towards handover and certification
  • Develop, implement, review and periodically update resource loaded schedules
  • Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control
  • Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery – data driven decisions

Who we’re looking for

  • Project delivery experience to make sure we meet high quality and safety standards
  • Experience in Power/Utilities within large infrastructure projects with an expertise in Underground Cabling and Civils
  • Strong communication skills to manage, mentor and empower your team
  • The confidence and credibility to liaise with business leaders
  • Commercial acumen to control costs and keep projects in budget
  • To understand standard forms of contracts and performance evaluation techniques
