Gleann Mòr Spirits Company, established in 2015, is an independent spirits business based in Edinburgh, Scotland. From our beginnings on a Leith industrial estate, we have grown to operate an extended bonded warehouse with a significant cask inventory. Our Rare Find range showcases exceptional single malts selected for their unique qualities, alongside a portfolio of award-winning spirit brands distributed globally.

 

Job Role

 

As a Marketing & Events Executive, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality trade and consumer events while acting as a confident and knowledgeable brand ambassador for the Gleann Mòr whisky portfolio. This is a customer-facing role combining event organisation, brand advocacy, and digital marketing support. The primary focus will be the Gleann Mòr whisky range (including Rare Find), with support across the wider portfolio as required. Working within the sales and marketing team, reporting directly to the Head of Commercial with a cross functional support role to other key stakeholders in the wider business.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Event Planning & Execution

·       Plan, organise, and execute trade and consumer events from concept through to delivery.

·       Coordinate logistics including stock, POS, glassware, staffing, and venue requirements.

·       Manage event budgets and ensure delivery aligns with brand standards and commercial objectives, completing post-event reporting and ROI analysis.

 

Digital & Marketing Support

·       Support the E-commerce & Digital Marketing Manager with content creation and campaign delivery.

·       Assist with social media content and planning, newsletters, photography, and video capture.

·       Contribute ideas for campaigns and activations to support brand growth.

 

Brand Advocacy & Customer Engagement

·       Represent Gleann Mòr Spirits professionally at trade shows, festivals, tastings, and industry events.

·       Deliver engaging whisky tastings and brand presentations to trade and consumer audiences.

·       Build strong relationships with retail partners, on-trade customers, and consumers.

·       Capture sales leads and support commercial team follow-up where appropriate.

 

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

·       Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of activations.

·       Maintain accurate reporting through CRM and internal systems.

 

 

Location & Working Pattern

 

Full-time position based at our Bankhead office, Edinburgh.

Typically, 3–4 days per week office-based.

1–2 days per week in trade and at events.

Regular evening and weekend work required (within contracted hours).

Travel across Scotland and occasionally further afield as required.

 

Salary & Benefits

 

Starting Salary: £28,000 per annum

Bonus Scheme: Eligible following successful completion of probationary period and linked to clear KPI’s and overall business commercial performance.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

 

Essential:

Previous experience in marketing, events, hospitality, or a customer-facing role.

Confident public speaker with the ability to present to groups.

Strong organisational and project management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.

Full UK Driving License.

 

Desirable:

Experience in the alcohol, spirits, or premium FMCG sector.

Content creation skills (photography, video, copywriting).

WSET qualification or willingness to undertake training.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
