Managing Quantity Surveyor – Responsive Repairs | Middlesbrough

We are working with a leading organisation in the housing and maintenance sector to recruit a Managing Quantity Surveyor for their Middlesbrough-based Commercial team. This opportunity has arisen due to internal progression and offers the chance to join a growing, forward-thinking business.

The Role

You’ll lead the commercial function across responsive repairs and void works, managing a team of Surveyors while driving profitability, performance, and client value. This role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on contract and financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial performance across repairs contracts




• Manage financial reporting, CVRs, valuations, and cash flow




• Oversee subcontractor management and dispute resolution




• Mentor and develop junior Surveyors




• Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams

About You

• Experience in a Senior QS / Managing Surveyor role (repairs/maintenance preferred)




• Strong knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts




• Proven commercial acumen and subcontractor management experience




• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills




• Strong leadership and communication skills
