Graduate Electrical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer, you will:
- Support senior engineers in producing electrical designs, cable/lighting calculations, and technical specifications.
- Assist with site surveys and on-site project management activities.
- Set up project drawings in line with company standards.
- Produce accurate and detailed 2D drawings from engineers’ mark-ups.
- Upload and download drawings and documentation using shared file platforms.
- Work collaboratively to refine and maintain electrical drawing standards.
- Produce and manage drawing issue sheets throughout each project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone with:
- A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Foundational knowledge across key areas, including:
- Electrical distribution (LV, and basic understanding of MV)
- Circuit protection and cable sizing
- Emergency lighting and compliance standards
- Fire alarm systems
- Small power and data systems
- UK Building Regulations, especially:
- BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
- Part L – Conservation of fuel and power
- CIBSE guides
- Competence in producing 2D plans, elevations, and sections.
- Knowledge of Revit (advantageous but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to work to project deadlines.
