Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: ST21 6JU

Salary: 50,000 – 55,000 + 10% Performance Bonus

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting for a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Manager or an ambitious Deputy looking to step up into a leadership role within a supportive, growth-focused organisation. You will be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring high-quality care is delivered while maintaining full regulatory compliance and striving for Good or Outstanding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the home in line with Ofsted regulations
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high‑performing staff team
  • Ensure the home provides safe, nurturing, and child‑centred care
  • Drive quality standards to achieve and maintain Good or Outstanding ratings
  • Manage budgets, staffing, and operational performance
  • Lead on safeguarding and ensure best practice is embedded
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities and external stakeholders
  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections

Requirements

  • Experience within a Good or Outstanding‑rated children’s residential service
  • Background working with children with EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) and/or LD (Learning Disabilities)
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to step up
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and children’s home legislation
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or working towards) desirable

Working Pattern

  • 173 hours per month (Monday-Friday)
  • On‑call rota (approximately once every 2 weeks)
