Job Description:

Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, recording quality results. This job description is not exhaustive as other duties may be required to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to company safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database (IFS).
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Drives root cause corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Supports the development, implementation and training of policies and procedures.
  • Co‑ordination of NCRs through to satisfactory closure.
  • Co‑ordination of ISO documentation and procedures.

Other

  • To adhere to CDE policy and practice.
  • To carry out any other duties within reason and capability associated with this role.

Skills Needed

Improvement, managerial/operational, people.

Required Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Educated to GCSE level in Mathematics and English.
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise and control daily workload.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Attentive to detail.

Desired Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of quality processes.
  • Paint inspection experience.
  • Technical qualification relevant to the role.
