Job Summary
The BSW Hospitals Group is recruiting an exceptional Head of Business Partnering to lead the People Business Partnering function at site level within Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GWH). This senior role requires a strategic, future‑focused workforce plan aligned to the organisation’s operational and clinical priorities, driving the delivery of the BSW People Plan locally and contributing to system‑wide workforce transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Business Partnering function for your designated site, ensuring strategic people initiatives align with local organisational and clinical priorities.
- Drive delivery of the BSW People Plan within your Care Organisation and advise senior leaders on workforce strategy.
- Commission work across HR design and delivery teams to provide seamless, high‑quality support.
- Shape site‑specific workforce plans, influence organisational strategy, and align the People function with long‑term business and clinical objectives.
- Provide professional leadership to a senior team of Strategic and Medical Business Partners, enabling them to act as strategic advisors across Divisions and Services.
- Oversee workforce initiatives tailored to the site’s evolving needs, lead complex employee relations matters, and collaborate with Group People Operations to manage risk and ensure consistency.
- Use data and insight to develop innovative, evidence‑based solutions that support local business outcomes, workforce sustainability, and cultural transformation.
Person Specification
- Extensive experience in strategic HR leadership roles, including a proven track record as a senior HR Business Partner and leading senior people teams in large, complex organisations.
- Membership with CIPD and holding FCIPD or MCIPD.
- Strong understanding of current healthcare policy and its implications for engagement.
- Evidence of post‑qualifying and continuing professional development.
- Extensive knowledge of People Services, acquired through a postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience, or experience at a master’s level equivalent.
- Educated to master’s level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area.
