Xpert: Senior Test Analyst (London or Southampton based)

Role: Senior Test Analyst

Location: London or Southampton (hybrid)

Engagement: Independent Contractor | 3-6 Month Contract – to start ASAP

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Test Analyst to support testing across business-critical systems and integrations. This role is best suited to someone with strong experience in API testing, integration testing, functional testing, and technical test analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Review requirements and make sure they are clear and testable
• Create test scenarios, test cases, and test documentation
• Carry out functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Test APIs and connected systems to make sure data flows correctly
• Validate requests, responses, business rules, and expected system behaviour
• Log, track, and support defect resolution
• Work closely with business, delivery, and technical teams

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience as a Senior Test Analyst or Test Analyst
• Solid API and integration testing experience
• Good functional, regression, and end-to-end testing background
• Experience with Postman or similar tools
• Good understanding of JSON and API request / response validation
• Strong defect management and reporting skills
• Comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in Agile environments

Desirable

• Financial services or insurance experience
• Exposure to complex calculations or data-heavy systems
• Basic automation exposure
