Are you an experienced Quality Manager looking for a rewarding new challenge? The Bridge Sexual Assault Referral Centre is looking for a highly motivated and committed individual to join their passionate trauma informed multi disciplinary team for a fixed term post of 12 months.

The post-holder will play a critical role in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the organisation’s ISO15189‑compliant Quality Management System (QMS). The post-holder will ensure that SARC services comply with ISO15189, the Forensic Science Regulator’s (FSR) Codes of Practice and Conduct, and associated appendices, enabling the organisation to achieve and maintain UKAS accreditation. As part of these regulations all SARC staff will be required to provide a DNA sample which will be held on a SARC Elimination Database and/or the Central Elimination Database.

The post-holder will report to senior SARC management and act as the primary lead and first point of contact for all matters related to quality, accreditation, FSR, CQC and all Regulatory compliance. Although the role will not require deep technical expertise in all SARC‑related professions, the post-holder will collaborate effectively with clinical, policing, forensic, and external partners to maintain a robust and effective QMS.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of quality management systems.
  • Ability to lead accreditation processes and ensure compliance with ISO15189 and FSR Codes.
  • Competence in internal auditing, continuous improvement, reporting, and risk management.
  • Capability to influence stakeholders and drive quality improvements across complex, multi‑agency environments.

Responsibilities

Performance & Reporting

  • Report to senior management on QMS performance and improvement needs.
  • Collate, analyse and present data on capacity, demand, performance, effectiveness and cost.
  • Manage audit reports and ensure corrective actions are effective.

Communication

  • Act as the first point of contact for all quality‑related communication.
  • Develop relationships with UKAS, FCN, FSR/Home Office, policing, NHS, charities and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation at regional and national quality forums.
  • Notify customers, UKAS and FSR of non‑conformances where required.

Quality & Forensics

  • Establish, implement and maintain the ISO15189 Quality Management System.
  • Ensure SARC services comply with ISO15189 and FSR Codes of Practice and Conduct.
  • Achieve and maintain UKAS accreditation.
  • Act as the quality lead and make decisions regarding the QMS.
  • Provide specialist advice on quality systems and accreditation.
  • Manage non‑conformances and implement corrective actions in collaboration with the SARC staff as required.
  • Seek and implement service delivery improvements.
  • Lead on the management of Proficiency Testing schedules.
  • Coordinate QMS‑related activities across the organisation to ensure compliance.
