Overview

In return the successful candidate will be offered opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally within a supportive environment and be encouraged to participate in service developments. Formal clinical supervision and a supported induction period will be provided.

Within this role you will be required to provide training and supervision to other members of the team including health care assistants, parents and family members, ensuring their competence in meeting the care needs of specific children and young people. The client group has highly complex health needs, including children and young people that are technology dependent (requiring invasive ventilation). The Children’s Complex Care Team forms part of the wider Specialist Nursing Service which includes Children’s Rapid Response, Children’s Palliative Care and the Children’s Community Nursing Team.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will deliver high‑quality nursing care according to agreed standards which are set and monitored. The successful candidate will develop rewarding therapeutic relationships with children and families in a community setting, working as part of a busy team of Children’s Complex Care Nurses in Birmingham. The service operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day, providing bespoke commissioned packages of care to children in their homes, schools and other community locations.

DBS Costs

All new employees will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if required. The cost will be deducted from your salary in three payments over three months once you start employment. Standard check: £26.40; Enhanced check: £54.40. The DBS level is determined by the post. No payment for training until DBS and training are complete.
