Location: Birmingham – x 2 roles

Salary: Base salary £35,244 pa to c.£41,464 pa, depending on skills and experience. Includes a flexible benefits fund of 15% paid on top of the base salary, fully pensionable. Competitive benefits available.

About the Role

  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work and support organisational EDI initiatives.
  • Ensure business adherence to document control policies, processes and practices.
  • Provide advice and support on document management and control to the business.
  • Understand departmental document control requirements and resource these through the document control provider.
  • Lead and guide document controllers across the organisation and supply chain on document and deliverable management.
  • Develop and deliver training in document control practices and systems.
  • Performance manage the team to maintain agreed service levels and high performance.
  • Implement document/digital management solutions with a focus on records management to guarantee HS2 project records are controlled, stored, retrieved, tracked, traced and audited.
  • Manage the Document Control teams, setting strategic, individual and corporate objectives, reviewing performance and ensuring staff possess required skills and understanding.
  • Protect confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information to prevent unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction.

About You

  • Strong communication skills – presentations, reports and cross‑organisation engagement.
  • Leadership with focus on consistency, teamwork, listening, influencing, coaching, development and performance management.
  • Experience managing electronic document management systems.

Knowledge

  • Document control and regulatory requirements.
  • Contract management and acceptance of deliverables.
  • Document management standards, processes and procedures.
  • Enterprise Bridge (eB) usage.
  • Bulk scanning systems and PDF functionality.
  • ISO 9001 document requirements.
  • Public Records Act 1958 and Section 46 FOIA 2000.

Type of Experience

  • Electronic document management systems, records tracking, archiving, retention and storage.
  • Documentation processes and typical project life‑cycle knowledge.
  • Life‑cycle management of documentation between client, contractor, stakeholders and interested parties.
