Assistant FP&A Manager – Tech Scale-Up Business – London (Hybrid)

Better Placed is partnering with a global, high-growth technology business looking to appoint an Assistant FP&A Manager.

This is a newly created role, joining during a period of transformation and continued international expansion. The position offers a strong blend of commercial insight, financial planning, and stakeholder engagement, alongside the opportunity to step into people management with responsibility for two analysts.

Operating within a high-performing and collaborative finance team, this role provides excellent exposure across markets and functions, with genuine scope to influence decision‑making and drive business performance.

Role Overview

Reporting into the FP&A Manager, this position plays a key role in delivering financial planning, performance analysis, and commercial support across the business.

You will work closely with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders, providing clear insight into performance while supporting strategic initiatives and ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery of group‑level performance reporting, highlighting key movements, underlying drivers, and forward‑looking risks
  • Producing insightful analysis across key financial metrics, helping stakeholders understand performance against expectations
  • Communicating financial information in a clear and concise way to both finance and non‑finance audiences
  • Contributing to budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring outputs are accurate, well‑structured, and aligned to business objectives
  • Partnering with teams across the business to gather inputs, challenge assumptions, and improve the quality of financial planning
  • Assisting with long‑term planning and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance reporting, streamline processes, and improve the use of systems and data
  • Supporting the onboarding and alignment of new business areas into existing financial frameworks
  • Providing guidance and oversight to junior team members, helping prioritise workloads and support their development

Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA)
  • Experience with planning tools such as Adaptive (or similar)
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to influence non‑finance stakeholders
  • Confident communicator, able to clearly articulate financial insights and the “so what”
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
  • Interest in developing leadership skills and managing junior team members
