BCP Salary Band 5 (£23,476-£25,888) – appointments will be made at the starting point of the salary range. The salary shown is pro‑rated based on a 35 hour working week from the full‑time equivalent.

This position is for 35 hours per week to be worked between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Monday to Friday, term time plus INSET days (39 weeks per year).

Eligibility: It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We are seeking a Reception Administration Officer to work alongside another experienced colleague on the Linwood Campus. The role is fully office‑based and provides a full range of administrative support to the campus under the direction of the Operations Manager and Deputy Headteacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding processes: control access to the campus, check‑in agency staff, sign in visitors and ensure they are escorted.
  • Triage phone calls, emails and in‑person requests, resolving enquiries or routing them to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily student register processes, staffing support, school lunch bookings, minibus bookings and other operational data.
  • Contact class teams to support student arrival and departure.
  • Receive deliveries and liaise with the Premises Team to redistribute.
  • Communicate with parents: call home for unexplained absences, send letters about school trips, email publicise special events and opportunities.
  • Support colleagues with emergency situations: calling an ambulance, providing registers during a fire evacuation, etc.

Requirements

  • GCSE level qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of providing administrative support service.
  • Knowledge of a range of systems, processes and procedures; ideally experience with school Management Information Systems.
  • Proficiency with IT packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and confidence in a digital approach to working.
  • Ability to communicate politely and efficiently by phone, email and in person.
  • Ability to reprioritise tasks according to need and urgency.
  • Knowledge of administration within schools is desirable, ideally special schools.
